We have answers
How long is an appointment?
Each treatment lasts approximately 20 minutes.
Will it hurt?
Clients report experiencing a mild burning sensation during the treatment. It quickly subsides, and there is no discomfort to be expected following the treatment.
How does it work?
Sclerotherapy is an injectable treatment. Using a tiny needle, small amounts of a concentrated saline solution are injected into the spider vein. After a series of two to five treatments six weeks apart, depending on the size of the vein, the vein will collapse and no longer carry blood, and therefore visibility is diminished.
What kind of results can I expect?
Depending on the size of the spider vein, a series of typically two to five treatments are required to achieve an 80 to 90% resolution.
What do I have to do to care for my skin after treatment?
After each treatment, compression stockings will need to be worn. It is recommended that the stockings be left on for two full days and in the following two weeks during daytime activity. Heavy lifting and exercise should be avoided for one to two weeks following treatment.
Are there any side effects?
Side effects are uncommon but may include hyperpigmentation, small skin ulcers, localized stinging, superficial thrombosis within the treated vein or possible superficial infection.
