YOU HAVE QUESTIONS
We have answers
How long is an appointment?
An hour before receiving a Profraction, clients come to the office to have a topical anesthetic applied to the treatment area. The treatment itself lasts about 30-45 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area and depth of the damage.
Will it hurt?
The discomfort that clients feel during a Profractional treatment varies. You have the option to receive a topical anesthetic, an oral analgesic, nerve blocks, and we offer the use of filtered cool air to help minimize the discomfort during treatment. Discomfort during healing time is minimal and can easily be treated with over the counter analgesics; such as Tylenol or ibuprofen.
What will I have to do to care for my skin after treatment?
It is important to use proper skincare after your treatment. Your skin will be sensitive and dry so keeping your skin clean, moisturized and sun-screened is crucial. Here at New Image, clients that undergo a Profraction will receive a individualized post-procedure system. These individualized kits provide everything you need to care for your skin for 3-6 weeks post procedure. Once the healing is complete, we highly recommend you maintain a SkinMedica or Alastin skincare regimen to keep skin clear, supported and healthy.
How does it work?
The Profraction treatment works by penetrating deep into the dermal layers of the skin forming thousands of tiny channels to stimulate collagen. This new collagen development will thicken and tighten the skin and diminish, if not eliminate, fine lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation.
What kind of results can I expect?
The redness and swelling that results from a Profraction treatment most often lasts 5-14 days depending on the depth of the treatment. Full healing time depends on the health of your skin prior to treatment, depth of treatment, and what skincare products are used after the procedure. You will continue to see improvement in the tone and texture of your skin in the months following. Some clients need more than one treatment depending on the desired result. It is important to know that best results are seen with continued use of quality skincare products.
Is there downtime?
The redness and swelling that results from a Profraction typically persist for 5-14 days. Clients will often reserve three to five days to clear their schedule and allow the redness and swelling to diminish enough for makeup coverage. Total healing time depends on the health of your skin prior to treatment, depth of treatment, and what skincare products are used after the procedure.
